The staff at this hotel are amazing. Checked into my room and it had no way to open any windows, which I'm afraid is the case for most of the rooms. I asked the front desk for a room that had a door to open by the pool and they switched my room, they were so nice about it. The staff in gift store is really great. The amazing poolside breakfast buffet is outstanding. Nearby market is useful. Plenty of nearby restaurant options.

Beautiful location, set amongst lush green gardens and a golf course. The hotel has all the amenities done would require. There are a few restaurants located right outside this hotel and a small super market. The hotel has a couple of nice restaurants and a Casino. The pool is beautiful. The in room dining menu is on the pricier side. The shower within the toilets need to be upgraded, I stayed in two different rooms and had the same problem, the water mixer in the shower would be fluctuating between cold and hot. Not a big issue but a nagging one though. The hotel staff is simply amazing, nice, courteous and always available to help you. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone visiting San Jose.

The hotel itself was nice, but the restaurant was a letdown. It has so much potential but focused on presentation over flavour. Food was overly salty and we were charged for a drink we didn't order. The wait for the bill was excessive, as was the updated bill when challenged. Breakfast was not even attempted as the prices were extortionate, we've seen better for half the price elsewhere in Costa Rica.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We travelled as a family and did not come across any issues. It was a pleasure visiting Double Tree Cariari. We were welcomed and upgraded right away upon arrival; parking is across the street in a secured lot. Bar, pool, casino - everything was impressive. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. We have excellent experience while staying here even though the hotel is kinda old. I loved their tropical hotel set up. The bar and food are great. There is mini casino inside. The jacuzzi is perfect. Also its only 20 minutes away from the airport. There are few walking distance restaurant around and supermarket. The only problem was, because it’s old, the air conditioner was so loud and when I ordered sangria wine I noticed and taste it that the sangria wine was combination of wine and water.

The hotel, itself, was great. There’s a complimentary breakfast with fried eggs made to order. There’s a fun bar with a lounge—they had karaoke the night we stayed there. While we were having some after dinner drinks, they came by with free beef skewers for everyone in the bar. I think it was excess food from the wedding that was happening in one of the event spaces by the bar. They were delicious. The only problem was our room. It was clean looking but smelled strongly of mold and cleanser. After some time the cleanser smell disappeared and all that was left was this horrible, pungent mold smell. It was impossible to sleep from the smell. We left the next morning as soon as possible. In their defense, we didn’t complain so we gave them no recourse to correct the issue. I wish that we had said something so we could see how they would have responded.

The restaurant service was excellent from Ramon, Tania and Rolando. They are excellent hard working friendly people. The room service was very good and quick. The hotel needs updates in the shower/bath tubs and shower curtains, and I prefer the hotel when it was painted with a crip white- however it was a good stay overall.

This place was fantastic. We started and ended our two week vacation here and it was perfection both times. We had 18 people with us and the front staff was able to accommodate all our room requests and helped store our luggage while we picked up rental cars, figured out how to use roof luggage packs, etc. The pool is fantastic, breakfast was delicious, and the hotel has a really great feel to it. They are renovating some spaces but it did not impact us at all. The rooms were very quiet and on our last night we stayed right near the lobby since we had to fly out so early. Both our kids had not trouble sleeping and we barely heard a sound through the walls. Our family really appreciated the separate kiddie pool and outdoor showers. My 7 year old wanted to make sure I also mentioned the delicious cookies that we received upon check-in. They were a hit with out boys. Will definitely stay here again.

Our flight got canceled and we were set up here. The host, Mario, stayed late to ensure we were taken care of. He was also there bright and early to see us off the next day. The hotel was very nice, clean, and the food was great. The staff was very helpful and made our stay great.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the drinks were strong. My room was so nice and clean. The shower could use some new tile, but that’s just being really picky. The view was beautiful outside my room. The pools and jacuzzi were beautiful. I thought the price for what you get was a great value. I would definitely stay again!

Lindo, amei o suco de tamarindo, ótimo atendimento. Tem casino pra quem gosta. O restaurante então hum é top. A loja onde podemos comprar presentes pra amigos e familia é uma Fofura. Tem ate um jardim na frente.

Bom e confortável. Comida do serviço de quarto deixa a desejar. Todos os funcionários muito atenciosos. A única grande falha foi o serviço de camareira, que apareciam lá para as 14:00/15:00 para limpar e no último dia foi depois das 17:00, horário que já havia saído, voltado e estava tomando banho, então não foi possível arrumar o quarto.

So many problems! Beautiful setting. Great food. But room not ready. Then cleaned late in the day. Didn’t provide me an open account at the desk so wanted me to pay separately for dinner. Then wanted me to go to desk to fix it. Got locked out of room. Call for a technician was never responded to so I had to go to the desk to get help. Disappointing!

Great service and delicious food! Rooms are clean and beds are really comfy. Big Pool that has one area that is deep and the other side is shallow. The restaurant service is excellent, great breakfast and the best Casado I’ve had in Costa Rica. I would definitely come back.

En general el hotel es bonito. Creo que puede mejorar, señalo la falta de corregir pequeños detalles como llavines en mal estado, llaves de lavatorio en mal estado. Son pequeños detalles que un hotel como ese no se puede dar el lujo de que ocurran.

The hotel sits next to a beautiful golf course which is or course in an upscale neighborhood. The property boasts an open-air concept. There's no front door so the foyer is open to the beautiful fresh air. As you navigate the hallways to your room, you'll see live bamboo and other foliage to further enhance the outdoor feel. My suite had plenty of room. There was a sitting area with a window followed by the bedroom behind another door. The windows were about 12 feet from the sidewalk. There were bushes between the two but not thick enough to have total privacy. At night I needed to close the shades completely. The suite needed work to freshen it up. Things just felt old and worn. Dirty grout lines, bubbling paint, substandard paint job. Restaurant and pool with swim up bar was nice. Food was was good but not spectacular. The hotel was decent, clean and secure. For a work trip you'll be fine. But I wouldn't book it as a first class accommodation with my significant other.

Nosotros disfrutamos del servicio de "Day Pass" y me pareció justo de precio y agradable la experiencia. Disfruta uno de las instalaciones en un horario de 8am-6pm, incluido una habitación, el desayuno (buffete) y almuerzo (a la carta). Una excelente opción dentro del GAM.

Me encanta este hotel, la temática es como colonial, los pisos súper bonitos. Las habitaciones espaciosas y las camas muy confortables! El servicio del personal es muy bueno. Por supuesto no pueden faltar las famosas galletas calientes al momento de realizar el check in 🙂

El hotel y sus instalaciones son preciosas. No obstante pedimos una habitación de 4 personas y nos la pusieron para 2, el detalle de bienvenida no tiene en cuenta a personas que puedan sufrir algún tipo de intolerancia (¿intolerante a lactosa, gluten o frutos secos? Lo siento, no hay detalle de bienvenida para ti). No te dejan acceder a la ducha después de salir del spa si ese día tienes el check out (¿tienes vuelo? Te vas con el cloro al aeropuerto). Para ser un hotel prestigioso no tiene en cuenta aspectos ni detalles básicos de los clientes…

Not a bad stay for a doubletree. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the staff is friendly, especially the bartenders. Would be 5 stars but I had to change rooms due to excessive noise (I was put in a room right next to the stairway) that keeps me up. They fixed the problem, but there shouldn’t be a bad room in a 5 star hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, and so is the room, although the bathtub is peeling paint. However the restaurants food is some of the worst I’ve ever had, completely shameful to be serving what amounts to soggy from a can day old cafeteria food. Not a single thing we ordered was palatable and even after a full 24 hours without food, we were unable to take more than a few bites without feeling revolted. It’s also the most expensive meal we’ve seen in Costa Rica. Do not eat here. Frankly the hotel would be better off closing their restaurant, and not scamming everyone who comes through with food everyone working here knows is inedible that you would only serve your worst enemy. I will say the staff and service was lovely, As a waiter myself, I feel terrible for them having to serve this.

This place is nice and clean. If you wish to take a soak in the hot tub, you must first book a reservation at the desk. They will give you a time your party can go in. The limit is 45 min.

This hotel is my family's preferred quick getaway location. It's in the Great Metropolitan Area in Costa Rica but has a beach resort feel. What keeps us coming back is the staff and their honest love for what they do.

Rooms are dated and dingy and only have full sized beds (not queens), dinner at restaurant was pretty terrible, but — the pool, the pool is golden! It’s a large heated pool with lots of shallow water for kids and jacuzzi, Perfect for our 6 yr olds. Also above average breakfast buffet.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hilton DoubleTree Cariari. The front desk receptionists, Mario and Johanna, were very welcoming and provided us with the signature warm cookies and bottles of water. The rooms are adequate and I recommend getting a balcony view as it allows you a beautiful view of the pool and sunrise and sunset. This hotel provides airport shuttle bus service to and from San Jose. This is a convenience that I really appreciate when I touch down; it is hassle free and a good start to one's vacation.
