“It is a relatively new hotel and kept very clean while we stayed over the weekend for an event. The rooms were clean and amenities were new. The bed sheets and towels smelled very clean as if they were just washed. The microwave and fridge were very clean and was a plus to have. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower was very good. However, the kingsize bed was not comfortable and seemed short. (Hence the 4stars instead of 5). My daughter who is 5’6” had her leg almost to the end of bed. I don’t think a tall person can sleep on that bed… also because it was a king size and it was slightly sagging in the middle. Note to self; not to get king size. Breakfast is not included, but there is nice cafe(?) that serves Starbucks coffee and food. I didn’t try it, so can’t comment on food or service, but it is a nice looking spot in the lobby (no photo taken :(). On a side note: Our room was located not too far from the elevator and there were a lot of kids for a baseball event, so it was very loud and nights. That was fine since we were there for another type of event as well. I will make sure we get rooms far away from the elevator next time.”

“We arrived very late (past midnight) on a Sunday/Monday at the Marriott Courtyard in North Brunswick, NJ. We had reserved a double queen room for 3 of us (myself, my husband, and son). We had been traveling all day from North Carolina to attend a funeral on Monday morning. Needless to say we were exhausted and drained from our travels. At check in, we were informed that our double queen room was not available and we'd have a King with a sleeper sofa bed. There were no other choices due to a cleaning staff shortage. So, considering the late hour, we took the room. Well the sofa bed was a small thin mattress, which I had to make up with wrinkled (I prayed they were laundered) sheets and a ratty blanket. My son was so tired, he didn't care. I did! We climbed into our queen bed, which was so uncomfortable. Throughout the entire night (well for 5 hours) I was awakened every 20 minutes or so by the loud sound of the air conditioning unit. Then the clincher ... when my husband went into the bathroom to take his shower, there was no soap and the shower did not work!! So, my son went to a relative's room to use their shower and my husband and I made due with a rinse in the tub, luckily we packed our own soap. It was so infuriating! The manager showed up as we were almost ready to leave for the funeral and with an attitude said he was there about the shower! "Too late!" I told him. I also informed him that I expected to be compensated in full for the room rate and we would be checking out instead of staying another night as planned. We did get the refund! But it was really disappointing! I thought Marriott Courtyard was a reliable brand! Never again will we stay there!”
