“I always choose Hilton first, but this hotel falls short of their usual standard and quality and not worth the price I paid. The overall condition is shabby; the carpets are really dirty and the place just has a dark and grungy feel. My room was clean enough, the bathroom was updated and bright, but the room furniture and kitchen fixtures are really old. I used the online check-in and digital key, so did not interact with staff. As far as I could see, there is one elevator, which is small and fills up quickly, so I waited a good ten minutes for my turn, coming down from the third floor with my luggage. The bed was comfortable, but sloppily made. This hotel does not have an automatic door at its main entrance. It's the little things that indicate whether a place really cares about the comfort of its guests, or is taking their business for granted. I might have said I would stay here again, but what put me off is the $10 charge to park my car, a fee I was unware of, and which came on a separate receipt. What this fee pays for is not obvious. There is no lot attendant, the pavement is old and cracked, and there aren't surrounding businesses for which non-guests would be using the lot. Management advises people to book through their website and not 3rd party apps to get all the necessary details, like the parking charge. My general impression is that this hotel needs to get with the times, bring the hotel's condition up to date, and work better with 3rd party booking services. There are plenty of other hotels in this area; choose one that will value you and your money.”

“We were immediately charged $10 to park in the parking lot. No mention was made of such a thing when we booked direct with Hilton on the phone. Front desk refused to remove the charge saying "every body pays it". The commode also immediately clogged upon rising in the am. Unless they treat this Honors member with resolutions we are out of Homewood Suites.”
